Please select your desktop email client below for instructions on how to set it up to work with CityEmail.
NOTE: If you are having trouble setting up your email client or if you cannot send/receive messages after following these instructions, please contact your mail service provider.
Entourage 2004, 2008, 2010
- Click the Tools menu
- Click Accounts Settings
- Select New then Mail
- Select IMAP from the Account Type list, then press OK
- Type your Email Address into the E-Mail Address Field
- Press the Configure Account Manually button on the bottom
- Type your email address in the account name field
- Type your Name in the Name field
- Type your Full Email Address in the Account ID field
- Under "Receiving Mail" for Account ID: type your full email address
- Type in the following for the IMAP server: mail.cityemail.com
- Enter your Password in the password field
- Press the Advanced Receiving Options button
- Check the box's next "This IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL)" and "Override default IMAP port" Set the port number to 993
- Type in the following for the SMTP server: mail.cityemail.com
- Click on the, Click here for advanced sending options button
- Verify that SMTP Service Requires SSL is checked
- Check Override default SMTP port and make sure it's set to 587
- Click the check box SMTP server requires authentication
- Close the settings window
- Click Ok

Mac Mail
- Go to Mail on the menu and select Preferences
- On the menu that pops up click the + on the bottom left
- This will bring up a new window, type your Full Name, Email Address and Password then press continue
- On the next windows select IMAP from the drop down, then fill in the description
- For you incoming mail server, type mail.cityemail.com, use your full email address as the login and the account password.
- Press Continue
- On the next page check mark Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and make sure that Authentication is set to Password
- Press Continue
- For outgoing mail server enter mail.cityemail.com
- Check mark Use Authentication then use your full email address as the User Name and enter the password
- Press Continue
- On the next page check mark Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and make sure that Authentication is set to Password
- Press Continue
- Press Create

Mozilla Thunderbird
- Click on the Account Settings from the Edit menu.
- From the Account Actions drop down menu select Add Mail Account
- Now type in Your Name, Email address and Password and press Continue (press manual-config if it takes a while)
- Make sure for incoming server IMAP is selected
- For incoming and outgoing Server hostname use mail.cityemail.com
- Select SSL/TLS for Incoming and STARTTLS for outgoing server
- Verify that the incoming port is 993
- Verify that the outgoing port is 587
- For Username Use your full email address
- Click on Re-test, if it works click on Done otherwise review your settings
NOTE: If your email client does not support submissions on port 587 with STARTTLS or TLS/SSL, please use port 465 with SSL encryption for the outgoing server.

- Below Outgoing Server (SMTP) verify that TLS is selected from the drop down menu

- Set Server Type to IMAP
- Type in the following for Incoming Mail mail.cityemail.com
- Check mark Requires a secure connection (SSL) and set the port to 993
- Type in the following for Outgoing Mail SMTP: mail.cityemail.com
- Verify that Requires a secure connection and Requires authentication are checked
- Set the outgoing port to 587
- Verify Authenticate using is set to Clear Text
- Type your Full Email Address in the Logon user name field
- Click Next
- Click Finish

- Type 587 in the Outgoing Server Port field
- Type 993 for the incoming mail (IMAP)
- Click on Apply then ok

- Select SSL (accept all certificates) as security type
- Verify that the incoming port is 993
- Press Next
- For SMTP Server enter: mail.cityemail.com
- Security type TLS (accept all certificates)
- Verify the port for the outgoing server is 587
- Username should be full email address and passsword
- Press Sign in
- Select the options you wish to use for push notification (ie. auto check mail)
- Press Next, give the account a name and save/done
